NSW: Make Cowan Rest Area part of your journey - just a short drive off the M1!

Heavy vehicle drivers traveling to and from Sydney can take advantage of the Cowan Rest Area, located just 5 kilometres off the M1 Pacific Motorway.

Managed by Transport, this rest area provides a safe and convenient place to pause, check loads, and manage fatigue.

The area is equipped with essential amenities, including:

• Flushing toilets
• Rubbish bins
• Lighting
• Shaded picnic shelters
• Heavy vehicle parking (accessible for vehicles up to 30 metre PBS Level 2B vehicles)

How to get there:

Northbound from Sydney: Take the exit toward Berowra/Mt Ku-ring-gai and drive 5 kilometres

Southbound to Sydney: Take the exit toward Berowra and drive 2 kilometres

Make sure to plan your stop and take a break when needed—it’s all part of a safe and responsible journey.
