NSW: Night closures on Wardell Bridge

Transport for NSW advises of night time closures will take place on Wardell Bridge at Wardell for five nights, while essential bridge maintenance is carried out.  

When

Sunday 19 July, the bridge will be fully closed at night only from 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday. 

What to expect 

The following detours are in place for all vehicles:

  • Blackwall Drive north of Wardell Bridge will be open to local traffic only.

  • Vehicles wanting to travel Southbound on the Wardell Bridge can detour via Pacific Highway from Coolgardie Road interchange and use Broadwater exit.

  • Vehicles wanting to travel northbound on Wardell Bridge can detour via Broadwater on Baraang Drive, Broadwater-Evans Head Road interchange, Pacific Highway and use Wardell exit.

This will add an additional 15 minutes travel time.

Unless specified otherwise, operators of Class 1,2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route.

Operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.
