Road Conditions (11 September, 2026)

Source: TfNSW

Changed traffic conditions will be in place at the rail overbridge on the Olympic Highway at Wallendbeen to allow final bridge repairs to be carried out.

The rail overbridge will be closed to traffic during the following periods:

  • 7:00 am Tuesday 15 September to 6:00 pm Thursday 17 September
  • 7:00 am Monday 2 November to 6:00 pm Wednesday 11 November

During the closures, heavy vehicle detours will be in place via Wombat Road and Burley Griffin Way in both directions.

The detour is suitable for 26 metre B-doubles and PBS 2A vehicles.

PBS 2B permit vehicles will be assisted through the worksite and should allow an additional 10 minutes of travel time.

From 6:00 pm Thursday 17 September, two lanes will reopen across the bridge under a reduced speed limit until the second closure commences on Monday 2 November.

Operators are advised to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and monitor conditions before travelling through the area.

Class 1, 2 and 3 operators are reminded:

  • Vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult the relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route, unless otherwise specified.
  • Vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed on the permit unless an updated permit has been obtained from the NHVR.
