NSW: Sturt Highway – Oversize Vehicle Access at Marshalls Creek Bridge

Road Conditions (11 September, 2026)

Source: TfNSW

Changed traffic conditions will be in place at the rail overbridge on the Olympic Highway at Wallendbeen to allow final bridge repairs to be carried out.

Operators of vehicles over 3.5 metres wide travelling on the Sturt Highway through East Wagga Wagga are reminded they must pull over before approaching the Marshalls Creek Bridge work zone and contact traffic control on 0455 163 418 to arrange access through the site.

There have been several recent instances of operators not complying with this requirement, creating significant safety concerns for workers and other road users.

Designated pull-over locations are available on both approaches to the work zone:

  • Westbound: Ampol Service Station at Gumly Gumly
  • Eastbound: Olympic Highway at Edward Street
  • Eastbound: Olympic Highway between Old Narrandera Road and Gobbagombalin Bridge

Operators are asked to ensure drivers are aware of these requirements before travelling through the area and follow all directions provided by traffic control.
