NSW-Gunnedah-Changes to access for Cohens Bridge from 26/8/24

Transport for NSW is starting essential maintenance work on Cohens Bridge on Chandos Street at Gunnedah from Monday 26 August. Work on the bridge is expected to be completed in around two years, weather permitting.

There are existing restrictions in place on Cohens Bridge for heavy vehicles due to the narrow width of the bridge. From Monday 26 August, these restrictions will include grain harvesting vehicles and will remain in place for the duration of the project.

To ensure the safety of our workers, all heavy vehicles will be detoured via O’Keefe Avenue, Old Blue Vale Road, Blue Vale Road, Kamilaroi Highway and Chandos Street for the duration of the project. The detour is expected to add around 14 minutes travel time to journeys.
