Road Conditions CQ: Yamala, Capricorn Highway, Heavy Vehicle Restrictions

Source: Department of Transport & Main Roads, Heavy Vehicles Unit

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that roadwork is underway on the Capricorn Highway from Bonnie Doon Road to Corkscrew Creek, east of Emerald.

The work is being undertaken on a 10-day-on and 4-day-off roster between 6am and 6pm and is expected to be completed by end-2024.

Lane closures, speed restrictions and traffic control will be in place for the duration of the works.

Heavy vehicle operators are reminded to exercise caution and observe all warning signs, speed restrictions and traffic control directions when travelling through the roadworks zone.

Any heavy vehicle with a load width of more than 4 metres should be raised to a height of 1.2 metres minimum, to clear the bollards, and operators must contact Brendan Crampton via phone on 0438 995 437 at least 7 days prior to travel.
