Road Conditions Wide Bay/Burnett: Isis Highway Upgrade, Biggenden Overpass

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be removing the ageing timber bridge on the Isis Highway at Biggenden and a new at-grade road will be constructed to provide a continuous stretch of Isis Highway at this location.

It is anticipated that major work will start in early 2025, weather and other conditions permitting.

During construction early next year, a temporary detour via Saleyards Road, Mary Street and Maryborough-Biggenden Road will be in place to enable the works to be completed as safely and efficiently as possible.

Saleyards Road will be upgraded over the coming months to accommodate the detour.
