Road Conditons Update-NT Barkly Hwy: Two-Way Directional Traffic flow to recommence 12/4/24

From Friday 12/4/24 - two-way directional traffic restrictions will be lifted and two-way traffic flow across the Barkly Highway will be restored without time limits for heavy vehicles with a 13 axle (double road train) limit ONLY. This will be in place until 15/4/24 when another update will be provided.

Speed restrictions will be signed and all Drivers are urged to drive to the speed limit and road conditions.

It is essential that all Drivers respect the road conditions, behave respectfully and courteously on the two-way and adhering to speed limits in place.

DIPL have identified several operators who have transported OSOM loads illegally (without permit.) These operators will be prosecuted.

From an industry perspective, please understand that these actions impact the reputation of the entire industry.

Stuart Highway - DIPL anticipates that OSOM load restrictions on the Stuart Highway will be lifted in the next 2-weeks.
