Source: Dept TMR - Heavy Vehicles Unit

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking maintenance works outbound on the Gateway Motorway on-ramp from Miles Platting Road, Rochedale May 10, 2026.
The works will be carried out at night with detours in place.

These works are being undertaken as part of TMR's routine maintenance program to improve the road surface and enhance road safety for all road users.

Work activities
  • removal and replacement of asphalt
  • reinstatement of line marking.

 Timing

  • Works will take place on 10th May and are expected to take one night to complete, construction and weather conditions permitting.
  • Typical construction hours will be from 8pm to 5am.
  • Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
Expected impacts
  • While works are underway, detours will be in place for one night between 8pm and 5am.
  • Temporary traffic changes will be in effect including traffic detours, road shoulder closures, lane closures with traffic control, changes to traffic flow and speed reductions.
  • Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect increased noise, dust and odour. Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be in use during working hours.
On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months.

During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to do further work at the location to rectify any defects.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.

TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are
carried out.
