SWQ: Temporary Closure of Truck Stopping Bay – Gore Highway, Captains Mountain

Safety improvement works are continuing on the Gore Highway, southwest of Millmerran, as part of ongoing efforts to improve safety for all road users.
Key details:
Activities are subject to weather and site conditions, which may result in changes to the scheduled timeframe.
Figure 1 – Map of truck stop:
- Location: Gore Highway, southwest of Millmerran – southbound truck stop opposite BP Service Station, Captains Mountain (see Figure 1).
- Commencement: From Monday 4th May 2026
- Impact: Temporary closure of the truck stopping area
- Duration: Approximately three weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting
- Purpose: To construct the stopping bay to a sealed standard
