The reference design for the Logan West Upgrade has been released, outlining proposed improvements to the western section of the Logan Motorway aimed at improving safety, traffic flow and connectivity.
The design has been informed by community and stakeholder consultation undertaken in late 2024, which identified motorway congestion, local connectivity, access to on and off ramps, and improved accessibility for emergency services and oversized vehicles as key priorities.
The proposed upgrade focuses on the section of the Logan Motorway where congestion is currently most significant, with a range of targeted improvements included in the reference design.

The project will remain focused on targeted improvements to the western section of the Logan Motorway. Feedback received during consultation regarding broader motorway extensions, local road improvements and active transport alternatives has also been recorded for consideration as part of potential future upgrades.
The Logan West Upgrade reference design remains indicative and subject to approvals, with the design to continue to be refined through the detailed design phase.
