The southern connection to the Parkes Bypass (Newell Highway) has now opened. The Parkes Bypass is now accessible using both northern and southern connections.

Commencing Monday 11 August 2025, a detour will be in place for Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicles travelling southbound on the Mackay Ring Road, Glenella, while resurfacing works are undertaken.
 

On Monday 4 August, 7pm to 5am, there will be a temporary closure of the northbound on ramp to Pacific Highway at Hexham, weather permitting.
