NSW: Temporary full closure on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Orange

Source: Transport for NSW

There will be a temporary full closure for two nights on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Orange on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 September, 7pm to 5am, weather permitting.

For operators of Class PBS 2B HML (68.5 tonnes) and PBS 2B Quad-Quad & Quad-Tri B-Doubles (77.5 tonnes) vehicles, it is recommended to avoid travelling during work hours as the detour is via the Mid Western Highway, Canowindra Road and The Escort Way in both directions.

Operators of Class 1, 2 and 3 vehicles travelling under a notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route.

All other traffic will be diverted through Blayney on the Mid Western Highway and Millthorpe Road. Please allow an additional 15 minutes travel time.

Following the closure, work will continue on the project with changed traffic conditions between Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Work is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
