Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads - Heavy Vehicles Unit

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking works on the westbound Bremer River Bridge on the Warrego Highway, Bundamba from early-November 2025 onwards.

While works are underway temporary lane closures will be in place.

Oversized loads exceeding 3.6m width and SPV's (traveling bridge centreline travel) intending to use the westbound Bremer River Bridge must contact the site supervisor Wayne Hansford on 0409 962 177 24 hours prior to arriving to site.

Work activities:

  • Investigation works to the underside of the structure.

Timing

  • Works are scheduled to commence from early-November 2025 onwards, weather and construction conditions permitting.
  • Typical construction hours will be from 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.
  • Night works are required for road user safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
  • While most of the works will be undertaken during this time, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.

Expected impacts

  • Temporary traffic changes include, road shoulder and lane closures, roadworks speed limit reductions and short-term traffic disruptions. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
  • Nearby residents and businesses may experience short term increases in noise, and dust during the works. Reversing beepers and flashing lights will be used on vehicles for safety.

TMR will be continuing with works to the bridge as part of the wider rehabilitation strategy. Further notifications will be provided in advance of these works.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds. TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
