NSW: Changed traffic conditions on Newcastle Inner City Bypass and Newcastle Road at Jesmond from Sunday 7 December

There will be changed overnight traffic conditions on Newcastle Inner City Bypass and Newcastle Road at Jesmond for up to four nights from Sunday 7 December, weather permitting.
To minimise the impact to road users the work will be carried out from 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday.
The northbound lanes on the Newcastle Inner City Bypass will be closed between Newcastle Road and University Drive:
- Heavy vehicles under notice will be detoured north onto Lambton Road, continuing north via Edith Street and Lorna Street, then east along University Drive to rejoin Newcastle Inner City Bypass.
- Oversize Overmass (OSOM) operators will not be permitted to travel on the southbound lanes of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass between University Drive and Newcastle Road or detour routes.
OSOM operators with a ground contact wider than 3.2 metres and/or width greater than 4.5 metres are advised to contact the project team on 1800 818 433 at least one day ahead of movement to avoid significant delays.
OSOM are advised the project operates on UHF channel 57 at the northern interchange Jesmond.
Vehicles travelling under permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
