What are the changes for drivers coming from VIC and NSW?
From Monday 6 September, any transport, freight and logistics driver entering from a High Risk, Very High Risk or Extreme Risk state/territory (currently VIC, NSW) must:
1. Have a test 72 hours prior to entering WA and produce evidence of NEGATIVE RESULT
OR
2. If the result has not been receivied when reaching the border, the driver will have to undergo a RAPID ANTIGEN TEST at the Border. These tests will be provided by border control officers. Please be aware that drivers will need to wait for the result of this test (may be up to 30 minutes).
Testing for Drivers from all other States and Territories (Low, Medium Risk) - the 48 hour presentation protocol applies unless the driver produces evidence that a test has been undertaken in a period of 5 days before entering WA or leaves WA within 48hrs of arriving.
They must also comply with the seven day presentation protocol (must have another test on the seventh day after the day on which the driver was last tested) for a period ending 14 days after the day on which the driver entered Western Australia, unless the driver leaves Western Australia by the seventh day after the day on which the driver was last tested.
