Transport for NSW advises the Browns Flat (southbound) rest area has closed due to a bush fire in the Nerong area. The Nerong Waterholes rest area (northbound) may also need to close.
It is recommended that you plan your scheduled breaks/rests with this in mind and use alternative rest areas such as;

Chapmans rest area (southbound)

Kennedys Gap rest area (southbound)

Station Creek rest area (northbound)

Twelve Mile Creek rest area (westbound)

Unless specified otherwise, operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route.
Operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.
